RICHFIELD — Mr. Archie Lewis Miller, 67, of Richfield, went home to be with Jesus Monday Oct. 31, 2011. He was born on Feb. 14, 1944, in Mecklenburg County, a son of the late Clyde Anderson Miller and Pheobe Kezziah Miller. He earned his GED in Mecklenburg County and attended one year at Central Piedmont Community College. He was a mechanic and a truck driver. Mr. Miller was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar, playing gospel and country music. He also enjoyed talking with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Miller, Johnny Miller, Arthur Miller, Edward Miller; sisters Dorothy Brown and Virginia Forbes; and stepmother Ollie Broome Miller. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Margaret Miller of Richfield, son James Miller of Richfield; daughter Lydia Miller of Richfield; grandsons Joseph Meager of Richfield, Matthew Smith of Richfield; brother Jimmy Miller of Charlotte; sisters Nola Marz of Charlotte, Millie Ellwood of Charlotte and Brenda Watts of Aiken, S.C. Service: The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Eastside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Joe Black, pastor. Mr. Miller will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 3 from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Eastside Baptist Church, 370 Trexler Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
