Death

Billy Frank Swicegood, age 73, of Banner Elk passed away on Thursday October 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 9, 1936 in Iredell County, a son of the late Kelly Andrew and Stella Williams Swicegood. Bill was a member of the No Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and woodworking. His favorite music was George Jones, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash and Gospel. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Robert Lester Swicegood; brothers, Paul, Reid and Wyatt Swicegood; and a sister, Deanie McDaniel. Left to cherish his memories are: his wife of 36 years, Lib Swicegood of the home; daughters, Dawn Holcomb of Salisbury, Kelli Swicegood of Salisbury, Lynn Moose and husband Craig of Faith, Frankie Sanders and husband Brandon of Rockwell; sons, Andy Swicegood and wife Christie of St. Rose, LA.,and Jonathan Swicegood and wife Diane of Crossnore; brother, Lawrence Swicegood and wife Wilma of Statesville. Fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. His family is truly greatful for the oppurtunity to share the life of such a loving husband, great father and caring grandfather. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 from 2:00 PM at the No Creek Primitive Baptist Church at 107 Nail Lane in Mocksville. Elder Eddie Fowler and Elder Brannon Hooven will officiate. Interment will follow in the No Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will also receive friends on Monday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.
