Death
Bland Alexander Clontz, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006. Born Nov. 16, 1925, in Union County, N.C., he was the son of the late John L. Clontz and Bessie Jane Wilson Clontz. He was a Springs Industries retiree and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a brother, Merl Lee Clontz of Monroe, N.C.; two sisters, Fodie Furr of Concord, N.C., and Geraldine Dean Price of Indian Trail, N.C. Services were held Thursday at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Cecil Johnson, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.
