Nicholas LUDWICK

Nicholas Ludwick was born November 10, 1817, in North Carolina and came to Texas via Mississippi. He married twice, and his second wife Mrs. Ellen Cox was born May 14, 1834. She had two children--Jodie and Billy Cox--by her first husband. Nicholas and Ellen came to Bell County about 1869, where Nicholas farmed in the Mountain Springs community near Bland. He died August 8, 1877, and Ellen died December 29, 1911. They are buried in the Mountain Springs Cemetery near the church of the same name. When Belton Dam was built, their remains were removed to the Flint Creek Cemetery.
