Charles A. Young (Republican). Representative from Washington County was born at Green Castle Warren County, Kentucky, on October 7, 1870, and died at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri on May 8, 1943, during his tenure as Representative in the 62nd General Assembly. Death was the result of injuries received in an automobile accident in 1943. He attended the Public Schools of Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky, and removed as a young man to Missouri where he married Miss Mary L. Bouchard of Cadet, Mo., in 1897. They were the parents of eight children, four boys and four girls. He was a railroader for twenty years and a general merchant for thirty years. He formerly had served in the Legislature in the 51st, 52nd, 53rd, 54th and 55th assemblies and was again elected in1942. He served as chairman of the Committee on Labor and was a member of the Committee on Roads and Highways; Social Security; Mines and Mining, and Railroads and Commerce.
