Joseph B. HANSON

(25 Mar 1821 - 8 Feb 1892)

Dear Carroll...this is the first time I have viewed your site. it is completely AWESOME. I was still looking for my ggrandfather's family Joseph B Hanson who came to Cadet area as w/Kansas Volunteer Army to guard the Deck Bridge which allowed the Iron Mountain Railroad to bring supplies to the Union Army....Going out to farms to get food for his battalion he came to Joseph Govero's farm...Both Josephs were 45 years of age...but Joseph Govero had 19 year old daughter named Elizabeth Mary Govero whose father Joseph felt Joseph B Hanson @ 45 years would be good match for his daughter. These are my maternal great grandparents... I have Joseph's parents Daniel Hanson - Barbarba Brumbach and also Daniel's parents David Hanson & Ann ? David Hanson was b. 1750 in Rockingham County, Botetourt, Va, and died January 1800....I have copy of his will that name two sons Samuel & Daniel....David died in Rockinghame Co., Botetourt, VA. and is in tax records of 1799 there. I cannot find his parents or rest of his family there. You are a very gifted person ....thank you for all the joy you bring to the world. Ever......Chris Hicks chris325@juno.com and chrissrose@yahoo.com. God be with you.
