Death

Shirley Ann Densmore Furr, 87, of Dundee, MS, passed into the Lord's arms the night of June 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born February 14, 1936, in Marvell, AR to John and Carmie Parker Densmore. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening and her many flowers and bushes. She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 granddaughter and her first husband R.C. Stanton. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Earnest "Sonny" Furr of Dundee, MS; 2 sisters Pat Morgan of Aubrey, AR and Jessie Barnes of Marianna, AR; son Robert Stanton (Laurie) of Dundee, MS; 2 daughters Louise Turner (Alan) of Grenada County, MS and Jean Strother (Alex) of TN; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023, 12:00pm-1:00pm at Berea Baptist Church in Dundee, MS. Funeral service at 1:00pm at Berea Baptist Church in Dundee, MS. with a burial to follow in the Berea church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home in Tunica, MS is handling the arrangements. The family would also like to thank Spring Valley Hospice of Olive Branch, MS; the nurses and aides who diligently helped her for so many months.
