Death

ALBEMARLE — Scotty Lewis Furr, 18, of Route 3, died at 11:30 a.m. June 23, 1989, at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. He had been in declining health for some time. The funeral will be held at 4 p m Sunday at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. George Grissom. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9. Born April 10, 1971, in Albemarle, he was a son of Lewis Furr of Albemarle and Patricia Ann Rhodes Burleson of Rock Hill, S.C. A student at North Stanly High School, he was a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include five brothers, Dustin Furr of Rock Hill, S.C., Braxton Lee Furr, Michael Goodman, Dennis Goodman and Joey Goodman, all Albemarle; two sisters, Justina Burleson of Rock Hill, S.C., and Kristen Furr of Albemarle, his step-mother, Wanda Hooks Furr of Albemarle, paternal grandparents, Grover and Nada Furr of Albemarle, and maternal grandparents, Dusty and Naney Rhodes, of Clover, S.C.
