Notes
Death
Wilma Furr Smith, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 4, 2025. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her daughters April Denise Smith, Candice Marie Smith and Elizabeth Ann Goodson. Wilma was born on January 28, 1951 to the late Reverend John Arthur Furr and Grace Rhodes Furr. She was married for 41 years to Gerald Delton Smith Sr, also of Kannapolis, and was a loving and devoted mother to Gerald Delton Smith Jr, both who preceded her in death. Wilma was a strong believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and is most remembered for the love she had of her family, especially her nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family, had a very strong work ethic and was known broadly for making the best homemade tacos. Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters; her son-in-law, Todd Goodson; her grandsons, Aaron Smith, Calab Bennett, Isaac Bennett, Elijah Bennett, Baron Woods and Grant Goodson; her granddaughters, Leah Woods, Madison Goodson and Sophia Goodson, and her great grandson, Calab Bennett Jr.. The family will hold a small graveside service at 1:00 on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Carolina Memorial Park.Endnotes
