Dessie Louella Medlin FurrLOCUST -- Mrs. Furr, 85, of 104 Locust Avenue, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. Funeral service is 4 PM Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland, with Reverend Arval Rushing officiating. Interment will be in First Baptist Church Cemetery of Locust. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. Mrs. Furr was born in Union County, NC on September 23, 1918, daughter of the late Ola Pressley Medlin and Charles Medlin. She was the wife of the late Ralph W. Furr. Mrs. Furr had worked for Cannon Mills as an overedger for 30 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust. Survivors include her son Larry Furr and wife, Linda, of Midland, NC; daughter, Dollie Love and husband, Carroll, of Stanfield, NC; sister, Irene Holleman of Locust, NC; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Furr family.
