SALISBURY - Mrs. Janet ''Jean'' Furr Hess, 66 homemaker and Roses Department Store salesperson, died Feb. 12, 1994, at home. Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cannan Baptist Church. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at Powles Funeral Home. Survivors are her husband, Martin; son, Donald Trexler Jr. of Davidson; parents, A.L. and Gladys Gobble of Albemarle; brother, Max Pennington of Albemarle; stepdaughter, Ms. Judy Pellerin of Panama City, Fla. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rowan County, P.O. Box 1603, Salisbury, N.C. 28145-1603.The funeral will be Tuesday for Janet “Jean” Furr Hess, 66, 875 Barringer St, who died Saturday (Feb 12, 1994) at her home after a serious illness of two months. Born July 20, 1927, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of Hess AL Gobble and Gladys Furr Goble, both of Albemarle. Educated in the Stanly County schools, she was a sales representative for Rose's department store, Salisbury, and a homemaker. She was a member of Cannan Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the WMU. Her first husband, Donald William Trexler, died in 1964. Survivors include husband Martin L. Hess; son Donald W. Trexler Jr., Davidson; stepsons Jimmy Martin Hess, League City, Texas, and Fred Allen Hess, Hitchcock, Texas; stepdaughter Judy Pellerin, Panama City, Fla. brother Max Pennington, Albemarle; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Cannan Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Graham and the Rev. Jack Hogsed officiating. Burial in church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell. Memorials: Hospice of Rowan County, P.O. Box 1603, Salisbury, N.C. 28145-1603.
