Tuesday, July 17, 2007 — A 26-year-old man was killed Monday night near Stanfield after his car collided with a tree. Daniel Bryan Furr, of 13391 Bethel Church Road, Midland, was traveling west on Rock Hole Road around 11:20 p.m. when the single-vehicle crash occurred, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) reports. Furr was about four miles from Stanfield when traveling at a high rate of speed when he drove off the right side of the road, became airborne and struck a tree just west of Honeycutt Road.

MIDLAND - Daniel Bryan Furr, 26, of 13391 Bethel School Road, Midland, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland, with the Rev. Sam Hopkins and the Rev. Ray Helms officiating. Burial will be at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Midland. Mr. Furr was born Jan. 23, 1981, in Cabarrus County. He was employed with RCC, Stanfield, as a carpenter. Survivors include his father and mother, Danny Joe Furr and Ann M. Furr of Midland; daughters, Constance Sorrow of Charlotte, and Shealynn Furr and Alissa Furr, both of Stanfield; step-son, Travis Gaston of Stanfield; brother, Daniel Joe Furr of Polkton; sister, Natasha Ann Furr of Concord, Heather Furr of Midland, Brittany Furr of Charlotte and Stephanie Ervin of Rutherfordton; grandmothers, Lucille Furr of Midland and Gayle Flack of Rutherfordton; and fiance, Lora Carpenter of Stanfield. The family will meet at the home of his grandmother, Lucille Furr, 3200 Crystal Drive, Midland. Arrangements by Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland.
