Notes
Death
Victor Thomas Furr, 78, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Born on February 3, 1948, in Lexington, NC, Victor was the son of the late George Furr, Jr. and Lucy Parks Furr. A graduate of Lexington Senior High School, Victor met the love of his life, Kaye Gobble, while in high school. Although they attended different high schools, the two were high school sweethearts and later married in 1967. They were the proud parents of two children, Wendy and Chris. A wonderful husband and father, Victor, enjoyed moments spent with his family. While his children were young, he was often on the baseball and softball fields coaching both his son and daughter as well as other children, and he was well-loved by all who knew him. While in Lexington, NC, Victor was an active member of Reeds United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, and was a Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He successfully owned Craftwood, Inc. (maker of Fanciful Furniture) in High Point, NC until his retirement in 2017. He and Kaye loved traveling throughout the US as well as the world. His love of the beach and golfing brought them to North Myrtle Beach, SC where they purchased a home in North Myrtle Beach. Victor would have stayed in Lexington, NC and continued his business for many more years but due to a serious car accident, life changed, and they made North Myrtle Beach their permanent home. Changes became blessings that forever reminded them that “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the number of moments that take your breath away.” In addition to his wife of over 58 years, Kaye, he is survived by his daughter, Wendy Marion (Patrick); son, Christopher “Chris” Furr; two grandchildren, Garrett Marion (Courtney) Carson Huff (Zach); three great-grandchildren, Grayson Marion, Madyson Marion, Madeline Jade Huff; and sister-in-law LuAnn Furr. Victor is preceded in death by his brother, Randy Dale Furr. The family is hosting a reception on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at their home.
