KANNAPOLIS - Edward Earry Lowder, 86, of Kannapolis, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis. Dr. Jim Summey will officiate. The interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Born July 28, 1918, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Robert Paul Lowder and Ozella Flowe Lowder. He was a driver with Smith Transfer Company until he retired in 1974. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Wilson Lowder, who died in 1989. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Lowder and Sherry Lowder. Survivors include daughters, Patty L. Furr and Husband, Boyce “Chip” Furr of Concord and Phyllis L. Rinehardt of Mount Pleasant; a dear friend, Kathy Whitaker Fincher of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Britten Furr of Concord, Doug, Randy and Chris Rinehardt, all of Mount Pleasant; and great-granddaughter, Whitney Rinehardt of Mount Pleasant.
