Shelvie Lambert Furr, 71, of 6630 Barrier Store Road, Concord, died Friday, June 17, 1997, at 8:10 p.m. in Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte. Her funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike McClellan will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Born April 23, 1923, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Essie Barbee Lambert and was a housewife. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She was married to the late Woodley E. Furr. She is survived by a son, Ronnie E. Furr of Concord; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley F. Coker of Concord; six brothers, J.D; Lambert of Illinois, Bill Lambert of Virginia, Buell Lambert of Raleigh, and Odis Lambert, Ray Lambert, and Odell Lambert, all of Concord; two sisters, Mrs. Frankie Carriker of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Veder Mae Langston of Charlotte; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 4695 Mt. Pleasant Rd. S, Concord, N:C. 28025. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is in charge.
