Death

Martin W. Beard, Jr. passed away at home after a short illness. He graduated from Forest Park High School where he enjoyed music and played the guitar and the trombone while in school. He enjoyed participating in the marching band while at Beaumont High School and Forest Park. Upon his high school graduation, he earned associates and bachelors degrees from Lamar University and worked for several years as a substitute teacher for Beaumont Independent School District. He served as a counselor intern and worked at one of the local prison units, and was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Beard, Sr. and his wife, Glenda. He was survived by his mother, Jeanne Beard; son, Jeremy; two granddaughters, Sierra and Hannah; sister, Patricia Beard; aunts, Ruth Schilling and her husband Harvey, Lucile Nichols and her husband James and Betty Sue Knight and her husband Frank; uncle, Louis Beard and his wife Carrie; as well as numerous cousins and their families. Graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive.
