Death

Barbara S. Furr, 71, of Concord, NC. died after a sudden illness Friday evening, October 27, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. with her family by her side. Mrs. Furr was born March 3, 1946 in Concord, NC. to the late Worth L. and Eunice M. (Patterson) Sechler. On April 28, 1964 in Mt. Crogan, SC. as the former Barbara Sechler she married her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth R. Furr who survives. Other survivors include her devoted daughter and three sons, Kathie F. Archer of Charlotte, NC., Nathan A. (Laurie) Furr of Craigsville, VA., Paul E. (Melissa) Furr of Midland, NC. and Timothy L. (Debbie) Furr of Matthews, NC. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amanda, Aaron and Kendall. Three great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Jacob and Anthony. One sister, Ann (Jim) Coggins of Salisbury, NC. The family will receive guests from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Charlotte, NC. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Furr to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane Kananpolis, NC. 28081. Barbara will be forever missed by her sweet cat, Tabby and her loving and devoted family and many dear friends. May God grant her eternal rest.
