Death

Barbara was married to her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Wayne Furr for over 55 years. she was born in High Point, North Carolina and lived there until she and Wayne moved to Houston, Texas in 1959. Barbara raised four daughters with Wayne. Kim Furr, Sandra Kaye Craghead, Karen Haedge, and Kris Rickman. All four daughters survive Barbara, and live happily with their spouses, children and grandchildren. Barbara was very proud of her children, eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, with two more on the way at the end of the year. Barbara was an animal lover and adopted many, many cats and dogs over the years, that she loved and called her own. For over twenty-three years, Barbara worked as a social worker and social minister for the Houston-Galveston Archdiocese. Her faith in God drover her in the choices she made, and the way she lived her life. Barbara has requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in her name to the Houston-Galveston Archdiocese Office of Aging. There will be a graveside service, Sunday, June 18th, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, Houston, TX.
