Death

Services for Dr. Glen E. Furr, a native El Pasoan who lived most of his life in this city, will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Restlawn Chapel. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Mausoleum. He died Thursday. Dr. Furr was a graduate of Austin High School, Texas Western College and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas. He served three years in the U.S. Air Force as a flight surgeon at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Following a residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital and Children's Hospital in Dallas, he returned to El Paso to enter private practice. For the past eight years, he practiced in the Dallas area. He was a member of the Texas Medical Association, Dalias County Medical Society, The Church of the Transfiguration, SAF and Phi Chi Fraternities, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Opthalmology and Otolaryngology. While in El Paso, he was member of the El Paso County Medical Society and the El Paso County Sheriff's Posse. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jon Connelly and a grandson Patrick Connelly of Bryan; son, David Furr of Austin and his mother, Mrs. Leonard H. Furr of El Paso.
