Death
On Saturday, April 30, 2022, Wiley E. Chambers, a loving husband of Earline Furr Chambers and father of two children, Michael and Keith, daughter-in-law, Christy, granddaughter, Sara Bridgette, and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Virginia Grace, passed away at age 83. Wiley was born on October, 31, 1938 in Tunica, MS. He started his working career as a gas attendant at Blue & White in Tunica, MS. He also worked at Clayton Mercantile in Tunica for some time before he was offered the chance to own and operate the Blue & White Restaurant in Tunica. He owned and operated the restaurant with his wife, Earline Chambers for over 35 years and also owned and operated an appliance store called Chambers Appliances in Clarksdale, MS for several years. Wiley was married to Earline for over 50 years. They raised two sons, Michael Chambers and Keith Chambers. Wiley had a passion for life and running the restaurant business. He also loved talking to all the customers at the restaurant and seemed to know everybody. He was a self-made man who also was involved in the Tunica Lions Club. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Wiley was preceded in death by his father, Dewitt Clinton Chambers, and his mother, Marybell Cook Chambers, and his wife, Earline, and his eldest son, Michael. He is survived by his youngest son Keith, daughter-in-law, Christy, granddaughter, Sara Bridgette, and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Virginia Grace, also his brothers Kenneth Chambers, Thomas Chambers, Lamar Chambers, and Walter Chambers, as well as, his sister, Beatrice Chambers Dunson and several nieces, and nephews, and a multitude of friends. There will be a viewing on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 1:00- 3:00pm at the Memorial Funeral Home located at 955 River Road, in Tunica MS. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home in Tunica, MS. Memorial Funeral Home in Tunica, MS is handling the arrangements. Flowers may be sent to the Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home at 314 East Second Street, Clarksdale, MS 38614 and they will make sure the flowers arrive in Tunica for the services.Endnotes
