Mrs. Mary Furr Hathcock, 94, homemaker, died Aug. 24, 1994, at N.C. Lutheran Home. Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Union Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are her son, Raymond Hathcock; daughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Russell of Norwood, Mrs. Maggie Atkinson. Stanly Funeral Home is in charge.NORWOOD — Mary Furr Hathcock, 94, 24724 Norwood Road, Albemarle, formerly of Norwood, died Wednesday (Aug 24, 1994) at the Albemarle Lutheran Nursing Home. Born Nov 19, 1899, in Stanly County, Mrs. Hathcock, a daughter of the late Henry and Lizzie Hartsell Furr, was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death byher husband, Dimpie O. Hathcock, in 1959, and a daughter, Lizzie Whitley. Survivors include son Raymond O. Hathcock, Norwood; daughters Lillia Mae Russell, Norwood, and Maggie H. Atkinson, Albemarle; 15 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Union Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Mabry. Burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle.
