WINSTON-SALEM -- Carl Eugene "Buddy" Dixson, Jr., President and Co-Owner of Brown-Rogers-Dixson Company Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Crosley Corporation, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 23, 2005. Buddy was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on January 17, 1946, and was raised in Winston-Salem. He attended R.J. Reynolds High School, where he played on the Reynolds golf team. He graduated with a degree in Business from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and remained a dedicated Tar Heel fan throughout his life. In 1970, he married Lynn Woodward, his wife of 35 years. Buddy, an avid golfer and golf enthusiast, was a member and club champion at both Forsyth Country Club and Roaring Gap Club. Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl E. Dixson, Sr. and Phyllis Morgan Dixson. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his daughter, Kelly Dixson Furr, her husbad, James E. Furr IV; and his grandson, Parker Woodward Furr of Raleigh, as well as his brothers, Robert M. Dixson and wife, Beth of Raleigh, and Ronny A. Dixson and wife, Shelly of Lewisville; nephews, Philip M. Dixson and wife, Mandy of Lewisville and Matthew W. Dixson and wife, Rebecca of WinstonSalem; and niece, Amy D. Dalton of Charlotte. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, April 26 at Vogler's Funeral Home, Reynolda Road from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in Vogler's Reynolda Road Chapel, with Dr. Tom Randall officiating.
