MOUNT PLEASANT - Mrs. Edith Little Furr Barnhardt, 87, of 10133 Hwy 49 Mount Pleasant, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Born on Dec. 4, 1922, in Cabarrus County to the late Ayden Little. Also preceded in death by her husband John J. Furr. Mrs. Barnhardt was a boxer in the hosiery industry and was a member of St. Stephens Wesleyan Church. A visitation was be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. Funeral services were held at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel Concord on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, with the Rev. Bill Clevenger officiating. Burial followed at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Survived by: son Mike Furr and wife Barbara of Mount Pleasant; daughters, Wanda Whitley, and Saundra Page also of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
