Death

Artist and musician, Vanessa McClain Furr passed away on March 11th at the youthful age of 47 after a courageous battle with cancer. Vanessa’s legacy doesn’t come to an end with the death of her earthly body. She was surrounded by songs of praise being sung by loved ones that continue to honor her memory by living their lives to the fullest never taking too much for granted. Vanessa was granted a writing scholarship to Tampa college and studied tirelessly. Sometimes life comes at you fast so after a semester Vanessa traded her dream of being a writer for her dreams of starting a family. Vanessa is survived by her fiancé and love Edward Borland; her children, Mitchell, and the twins Stephen and Stephanie Catterton, and T.J. O’Connor. Vanessa also leaves her brother, Danny Alvarez; sisters, Laurie Bozeman and Vonda Woolridge and many other family and friends. It was the little things in life that gave her joy. The cooking of a good meal to just wondering around the house singing the silliest of songs to herself or whoever was around. Pray that her song fills all our hearts with love for the rest of our lives. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 2:00pm at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home Chapel, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL  34652.
