Death
Edith Cranford Quick, 94, died on March 29,2026. Born in Cheraw, South Carolina on October 13, 1931, she was a daughter of Frank Marvin Cranford and Delia Crouch Cranford. Edith married Otis Quick on January 10, 1954. They were married 51 years at the time of his death on March 11, 2005. She was also preceded in death by brothers Frank, Arace, John, Bill, and Thomas Cranford, and sisters Ethel Baker, Myrtle Kelly, Ruth Turner, and Joyce Colley. Edith was employed by the U.S. Postal Service from 1958 until 1989. At the time of her retirement, she held the position of Postmaster at the Wallace Post Office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cheraw, S.C. In her younger years she was active in United Methodist Women, Sunday School, and served on a number of committees. Edith was known for her drive and determination. With her sharp intellect and keen insight, she enjoyed discussing current events. These traits made her a respected source of advice for her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Furr; her son, Clyde Quick (Lisa) of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter Elizabeth Trapp; grandson, Hal Trapp (Taren) of Columbia; and great granddaughter Madison Trapp of Perry, Georgia. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2 at 11:00 AM at Old St. David’s Cemetery in Cheraw, South Carolina. The family will receive friends there following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. David’s Cemetery Association in Edith’s memory. The address is PO Box 1196 Cheraw, South Carolina 29520.
