Death
Royal T. Coker, age 75, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps, retired from the Champion Box Co. in 1984 and then retired from Cavanaugh Grade School in 1995. He graduated from Westark College in 1954. Mr. Coker’s hobbies included working on cars and making small furniture in his woodworking shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellie and Euthel Coker. Services will be Wednesday, March 9, at noon at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary. Mr. Coker is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nina of the home; his daughter, Cindy Ragan of Grand Lake, Okla.; three sons, Grant, Keith and Mark Coker, all of Fort Smith; his mother-in-law, Ann Furr of Fort Smith; three sisters, Dorothy Louise Clark of Panama, Velta Hunter of Bokoshe, and Gayle Matlock of Keota, Okla.; one brother, Loyal D. Coker of Haskell, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Albert Slawson of Hackett; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Nathan Bain, Michael Bain, Matt Coker, Ethan Coker, Zac Coker and Bill Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Coker and Mike Parks.
