Death
Phillip Larry Currin, 68, of Cameron died on Tuesday (March 1, 2005) at Womack Army Hospital in Fort Bragg. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, at Countryside Presbyterian Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jack Bowling and the Rev. Gil Wise. The family will receive friends today (Friday), from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Mr. Currin was born in Kilgore, Texas, a son of the late Milton and Gladys M. Currin. He served four tours in the U.S. Army Special Forces in Vietnam, and retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Army. He was a poultry farmer in Cameron for 20 years. His son, Eric Talbert, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Christine Furr Currin; sons, Terry Talbert o Rock Hill, S.C., and Scott Talbert of New Castle, Ky.; daughters Carol Eubanks of Ocala, Fla., Sandy Rogers of Iowa, Nicki Thomas of Roswell, N.M., Tracy Munson of Cameron and Lynne Rogers of Carlsbad, N.M.; four brothers; four sisters; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford is serving the family.Endnotes
