Death
Mr. Cletis Edward Perkins, 66, of 896 Zion School Road, died Friday, July 12, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Swords Creek, Va., Mr. Perkins was a son of the late Charlie Harrison and Mallie Dye Perkins. He was plant manager of Teleflex Fluid Systems in Pickens. Mr. Perkins was a member of West End Baptist Church, where he belonged to the Senior Sunday School Class. Mr. Perkins was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife, Rita Furr Perkins, of the home; five sons, Terry Edward Perkins, Jack E. Jackson and his wife Tracy, Damon E. Jackson and his wife Cindy, Bobby E. Seaberg and Eric D. Perkins, all of Easley; three daughters, Debra Ann Whitmire and her husband James Michael, and Karen M. Seaburg, all of Easley, and Tammy Cannaday and her husband Steve, of Martinsville, Va.; four brothers, William Perkins of Greenville, Henry Lee Perkins of Richlands, Va., Herbert Perkins of Maryville, Tenn., and Guy Perkins of Belton; four sisters, Trula Fields of Martinsville, Va., Nettie Price of Swords Creek, Va., Ester Gray of Honaker, Va., and Margaret Clark of Crossmore, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Perkins was predeceased by three brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at West End Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jack Connelly. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
