Death
Annie Lucille Furr, 90, of Midland, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023. Lucille was born December 28, 1932, in Shelby, NC, to the late Baxter and Lessie Everhart. She was also preceded in death by husband, Ralph "Buck" Furr; daughter, Joyce Furr McLaurin; grandson, Daniel Furr; and brothers, Otis and Leroy Cavender, Jack Everhart, and Jessie and Ronald Harkey; sisters, Betty Price and Margaret Simmons. Lucille loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church, Midland. She loved being outdoors, gardening, gold-panning and fishing. Lucille enjoyed raising children. She was a beloved mama, maw, sister and aunt. Survivors include son, Lee (Joyce) Furr of Oakboro; son, Billy (Sherry) Furr of Midland; son, Joe (Mattie) Furr of Concord; daughter, Frances Furr Holloway of Winston-Salem; brother, Walker (Jeannie) Harkey of Midland; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; best friend, Shelia Helms; and beloved dog, Bookie. The family would like to thank Shelia and Hospice of Union County for their love, care and support. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 4720 Garmon Mill Rd., Midland. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Tom Gibbs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Midland. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Furr family.Endnotes
