Death
CONCORD — Eugene Proctor, 60, of 150 Cedar Dr., died Thursday at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Mr. Proctor was born in Iredell County, April 9, 1907, son of Robert A. Proctor and the late Mrs. Bessie Walter Proctor. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kerr St. Baptist Church with Rev. C. Eugene Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at Wilkinson’s Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state half an hour prior to the rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, Mrs. Beulah Furr Proctor; one son, Robert Proctor of Concord; three brothers, Carl Proctor and Everrette Proctor of Concord, Jay Proctor of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth P. Jones and Mrs. Maybelle P. Kathey of Charlotte; one grandchild.The Daily Independent, Concord, North Carolina, December 22, 1967
