Death
Charles Kevin "Chip" Furr, 58, of Midland, NC passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was born in Mecklenburg County on July 22, 1963. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Wayne Furr and his mother Phyllis Ann Furr. Chip had a great love for God and for his family. A devoted husband, father and faithful friend. He was also a successful business man. He was one to go above and beyond for all those he met. He also had a great passion and love for sports, whether playing or coaching. He would say his greatest times were those spent on the ball field amongst family and friends. He was a competitive ball player whether it was golf, baseball, softball or basketball. He played to win. He has ultimately found victory. Chip is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Wilson-Furr; daughters, Makenzie Bates (Neal) and Madelyn Furr; sister, Cheryl Bennett (Dave); nieces, Christy Leyland (David) and Emily Middlebrook; great nieces, Emma and Jenna Middlebrook. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Bethel Church of Midland, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107. Pastor Jeremy Brackett will officiate the service. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the graveside service. The service will also be available via live stream on Bethel Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bethel.church.midland.nc for those who cannot attend. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to www.aphasiaproject.org or Bethel Church of Midland. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving Chip's family.Endnotes
