Death

Lula Bee Furr Buiwe, 78, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Forrest Oaks Healthcare Center in Albemarle. Lula was born June 5, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Albert K. Morton and the late Lula Furr Morton. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Gordon Ray Buiwe, who passed away in 1995; and an infant son and daughter. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, October 16, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 3:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Delane Burris. She will be laid to rest at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of her son, Randy Buiwe, 18850 B Huneycutt Mill Rd., Albemarle. She is survived by her sons, Sandy Jerome Buiwe of Albemarle, Randy Ray Buiwe and wife Becky of Albemarle; sister, Lorene Speight and husband Tom of Albemarle; brother, George Morton and wife Shirley of Albemarle; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Lula was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She worked at Jeffries Southern Processors for over 20 years, and retired from Stanly Regional Medical Center's food service department after 15 years of dedicated service. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Buiwe family.
