Death
Funeral services for Charles A. Furr, 74, were held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Noy. 12 with the Rev. W. Landon Miller and the Rev. Nelson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mr. Furr died at King’s Daughter's Hospital on Saturday as the result of a heart ailment. He was born on May 18, 1876, in Copiah County. He joined the Baptist Church at Pleasant Hill as a young man. Prior to his death, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brookhaven where he was a member of the Dean Bible Class. He lived in Brookhaven for the past 16 years. Pall bearers were his grandsons, Johnnie and Terrell Davis, and Charles Lee and A. V. Leonard, and his nephew, Howard and Aylewood Furr. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. May Barksdale Furr of Brookhaven; three daughters, Mrs. Christine Davis, Mrs. Irma Davis and Mrs. Ilene Leonard, all of Port Arthur, Texas; two sons. C. L. Furr of Hollandale, and O. C. Furr of Port Noches, Texas; three brothers, M. E. and M. F. Furr of Wesson, and Arthur Furr of Jackson. 11/17/1950Endnotes
