Death

Claude Lester LaFevers, Sr., 83, of 512 W. 8th St., who had made his home here for the past 65 years, died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital following three years of declining health and a serious illness of three weeks. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Lady's Funeral Home by C.C. Cruse and B.H. Fulcher. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, China Grove. A native of Caldwell County, Mr. LaFevers was a son of the late Will LaFevers and Mrs. Candace Keller LaFevers. He was a retired textile employee. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Cartin LaFevers; three sons, Claude L. LaFevers Jr. of the home; Willard of Kannapolis and R.J. Fafevers of Landis; three daughters, Mrs. David Tuck, Mrs. W.J. Gantt and Mrs. T.E. Overcash, all of Kannapolis; three sisters, Mrs. C.R. Overcash, Mrs. R.L. Thornburg and Mrs. Jess Ervin all of Kannapolis; 12 Grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren
