Death
Elizabeth Leigh “Micky” Tevepaugh Furr, 67, 628 Love St., Albemarle, formerly of Midland, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at her home. She was born on June 14, 1934, in Davie County, the daughter of the late Gordon Alfred Phillips and Beatrice Coone Phillips. She was a spinner at Wiscassett Mill. Mrs. Furr enjoyed visiting different churches and gospel singings. She was an art student of Talmadge Moose. Her pastime and passion was artistic things, sketching, drawing and painting. Her artwork had been featured in the Charlotte Observer. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dock Edward Tevepaugh, and also by her second husband, John Thomas Furr Sr. She was also preceded in death by one son, Randall Eugene Tevepaugh Sr, two grandsons, Randall Tevepaugh and Timothy Wayne Tevepaugh; one sister, Marilyn Deaton, and one brother, Sonny Phillips. Mrs. Tevepaugh is survived by one daughter, Virginia Furr of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Ronald Wayne Tevepaugh of Troutman, and Timothy Edward Tevepaugh of Jamestown, Tenn.; one daughter, Robin Harkey of Troutman; one sister, Ramona Maximillian of Livingston, Calif; one brother, Johnny Phillips of Mooresville; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord. The Rev. Gary Cox will officiate. Burial will be in West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home at Concord.
