Death
Mrs. Martha Lula Doby, 62, of 1248 Columbus Street, died Tuesday night about midnight in the Stanly County Hospital after two weeks of serious illness. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Furr of Stanly County and she was a member of the Church of God. Her first husband, Amos Russell, died in 1918. She is survived by her second husband, John Franklin Doby. Also surviving are the following children, Clarence and Aaron Russell of Albemarle, B. Dallas Doby of Albemarle, J. D. Doby of Wilmington, Miss Betty Doby of Albemarle; step-children, Mrs. Jim Thompson and Mrs. J. C. Lowder of Albemarle, Mrs. Willie Mae Crowell of Misenheimer, Mrs. Arlie Sells of Misenheimer, and Bennie Doby of Albemarle. One brother and one sister survives, these being Henry Furr of Albemarle and Miss Naomi Furr of Route 1, Albemarle. Two grandchildren survive, also. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of God, conducted by the pastor, Rev. D. H. Delk.
