Death
MOORESVILLE - Samuel Floyd Lambert, 94, went to be with his heavenly father on Easter, Sunday, April 12, 2009. He was born July 26, 1914 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late James Allen Lambert and Mary Alice Furr Lambert. He was one of 13 children. He was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt. No.1, No. 2 Card Room for over 40 years until his retirement. He held his church membership at the Kannapolis West A Street Church of God, Kannapolis, NC for over 65 years. He loved his God, loved his family, and loved helping others. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Nance Lambert, who died in February 14, 1999;and a daughter, Mildred L. Walls, who died in 1998. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. James Lambert, his brother; Dr. Richard Jordan; and Rev. Sam Crisp. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters, Julia Carter and husband, Bob, Linda Jordan and husband, Richard, both of Mooresville; a son, Kenneth R. Lambert and wife, Joan of Mooresville; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his only brother, Rev. James Lambert of Morganton.
