Death
CONCORD - Grace Telitha Barbee Furr Allred, 83, of 194 Krimminger Ave., died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Charity Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. R. J. Hammond, the Rev.. Ron Bushey and the Rev. Marvin Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be at New Testament Independent Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Allred was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Charles Barbee and the late Beaulah (Hartsell) Furr. She retired from Collins & Aikman as a weaver. She was a former member of the Cabarrus County Saddle Club and was a member of Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Davis Furr, and her second husband, Richard Louis Allred. Survivors include her son, Mitchell Furr and wife, Shirley, of Concord; daughter, Meta Furr Armstrong and husband, David, of Belmont; brother, Walter Barbee of Concord; sisters, Lula White and Martha Sellers, both of Concord; grandchildren, Keith Furr and wife, Tara, Rusty Furr and wife, Jeanne, Aaron Armstrong and wife, Kym, and Michael Armstrong and wife, Tina; and five great-grandchildren. The family meeting place will be at 160 Krimminger Ave., Concord. Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantly Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
