Robert Allen Isenhour, 69, of 32008 Hwy. 49 N. Richfield, N.C., died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at his home.There will be an informal gathering of family and friends at the Richfield-Misenheimer Fire Dept. from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 9. At other times the family will be at the residence.Funeral service will be at New Bethel Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, The Rev. Glenn C. Reichley and The Rev. Woodrow Frick officiating, with a 30-minute state. Interment will be at New Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Richfield.Born July 25, 1939, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Hubert Allen and the Ruth Elizabeth (Howell) Isenhour and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Isenhour was employed with Alcoa for 31 1/2 years and Isenhour's Garage for 10 years. He was also a self employed electrical contractor. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1957 and attended Pfeiffer College. He was a retired member of the Richfield-Misenheimer Fire Department serving 34 years, including 9 years as Fire Chief. He was a member of New Bethel Lutheran Church in Richfield where he served on the church council. He was preceded in death by grandson, Kaleb James Furr. He is survived by his wife, Louise Harrington Isenhour of Richfield; two sons, David Allen Isenhour and wife, Rebecca, of Richfield and John Robert Isenhour and wife, Kelli, of Salisbury; two daughters, Wendy Hefner and husband, Mark, of Claremont and Julie Furr and husband, J.P., of New London; grandchildren, Daniel and Alison Isenhour of Richfield, Tyler and wife Samantha, Kathryn, Jessica and Matthew Hefner of Claremont, Hayden and Rylan Furr of New London; great grandchild, Reece Hope Hefner of Claremont; a sister, Janet Jordan of Charlotte; a brother, Lewis Isenhour of Kernersville; and an uncle, Ray Isenhour and wife, Mildred, of Gold Hill.
