Notes
Death
Marion Frances Todd Furr. Age 84, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother gained her angel wings to her forever home with our Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Bobby Furr; her parents, Eva Mae (Sledd) and Henry Arthur Todd; brother, Claude Douglas Todd; grandson, Derrin Furr; and granddaughter, Angelia Eve Garren. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Pat) Furr Garren and spouse Carl of Middletown, CT; D. Ray (Furr) Withrow and spouse, Robin of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Carla Garren Williams and spouse, Stacy of Wilmington, NC and Gena Garren and partner Steven Plummer of Middletown, CT; great grandchildren, Meghan Williams Rolon and spouse Christian of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Schuyler Vazquez of Middletown, CT and Dalton Williams of Wilmington, NC; and great-great grandchildren, Amos and Charlotte Rolon of Kaiserslautern, Germany along with many fur-baby grands. Marion valued her greatest accomplishments as having been the helpmate to her beloved Bobby and their ministry to serving our Savior in the many churches and faith communities of North Carolina; loving and supporting her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Marion was a true example of "Mommas love you when no one else will; they believe in you despite all evidence to the contrary". As she approached middle age she also proudly accomplished obtaining her Certified Nursing Assistant listing and GED, where she was the 'highest scoring' member of her class. Marion never met a stranger. She enjoyed the gift of gab with friends and strangers, far and near. After losing her soul mate to cancer in 1999 she moved to Asheboro, NC to be closer to family and then later to Middletown, CT while never losing her love for her home in North Carolina. In her later years her nightly routine included her love of watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every evening, often arriving at the correct answer before the TV contestant; and her sweet tooth for that bite of sweet after (or in place of) any meal. Her smell of Cherry Almond Jergens Lotion and the detailed sharing of reminisced events will leave our hearts empty until we unite with her again. Please join us in her celebration of life with visitation at McEwen Funeral Home, Monroe, NC on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 2 pm - 3 pm followed by graveside service and internment at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC at 3:30 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022.Endnotes
