Death
Eric attended school in Charlotte, NC and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1989. He earned an Associate Degree from Stanley Community College in Albemarle in 1992. Eric lived a life of service. He was a third-degree mason and a member of the Shriners and served as a mentor and sound technician in the Freewater Church in Winston Salem, NC. In his early years he built and competed successfully with remote control cars, was a fan of racing, and as an adult built on his interest in founding a business called Finish Line graphics, using his considerable skill with art and design. He was a devoted family man, celebrating life each and every day with his wife, Karen, and his daughter, Tessa. He is survived by them as well as by his parents, George (Phil) Furr and Dianne Gold, his stepparents Maureen Furr and Benjy Gold, and was predeceased by grandparents Tommie and Marguerite Furr and Dennis and Lucille Clark. He leaves behind his aunts Rita Kohn (husband Jim) and Mandy Herrin (husband Randy), uncles Tony Clark (wife Sue) and Henry Clark (wife Kathy), six cousins, and several nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 7/10/24, at 10:00 AM and services will be held at 11:00 AM at the Freewater Church, 11141 Old US Highway 52 in Winston Salem, NC 27107. In lieu of flowers, any donation to the Shriners Children’s (Hospital), Office of Development, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277 would be appreciated.Endnotes
