Death
Graveside services for Mrs. Eva Helen Traver States, 78, of 414 Brown Avenue, Albemarle, a homemaker, were held Sunday at 11 a.m. in Oakboro Cemetery. Mrs. States was born June 16, 1909 in Stanly County and was the daughter of the late Will and Josie B. Shuping Traver. A daughter, Mrs. Dale Furr Robinson, preceded her in death. She died Saturday in Stanly Memorial Hospital and is survived by her husband, Thomas J. States, Sr., of the home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Jerry W. Furr of Colonial Heights, Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Huneycutt and Mrs. Gladys Russell, both of Albemarle, and Mrs. Hazel Shuping of Norwood three grandsons and one great granddaughter.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, September 22, 1987
