KANNAPOLIS — Mrs. Connie Pope Mills Tucker Furr, 91, of 630 Irene Ave, died Wednesday at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital after being in declining health for several years and seriously ill for three weeks. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Lane Street Church of God conducted by the Rev. Sam Crisp, pastor and the Rev E. L. Turner. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be at Lady's Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. Born April 8, 1890, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Elizabeth Collins Pope and was a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, E V Mills of Concord, John B Mills and George Tucker, both of Kannapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Gennive Mills Tucker and Mrs. Frances Furr Hicks, both of Kannapolis and Mrs. Odell Mills Sloop of China Grove; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Cordie Jarvis of Concord, Mrs. Gertie Mills of Baltimore, Md and Mrs. Helen Elwood and Mrs. Ruth Burnette, both of Kannapolis, 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.Endnotes
