Death
John E. Hartsfield, 89, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away, Sunday October 24, 2010. He was born January 10, 1921 in Oxford, Mississippi to John Curtis and Mae Furr Hartsfield. John led an active life, helping others. He graduated from Ole Miss, was a pilot, and the former president of the Radio Control flying club. He retired from Arkla Gas, was a World War II veteran, and a member of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Phillips Hartsfield. He is survived by his two daughters, Julia Hartsfield of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Emily Hartsfield of Helena, Arkansas; three nephews, Jimmy (Peggy) Hartsfield, Marvin (Marlene) Hartsfield, and Skip (Brenda) Nolan; two nieces, Susan Williams (Clayton), and Marianne Evseichik; and a special friend, Michele Herman. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 27, at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501)835-3515.Endnotes
