Death
Funeral service was held Tuesday 2 p.m. in the First Baptist church of Kiowa for Davis Boen Hall, 93, who died early Friday morning at his home west of Kiowa following an illness. Rev. E. C. Sisk, the pastor, conducted the service and burial was in the Savanna cemetery under the direction of the Mills-Humphrey Funeral home. Born in Dexter, Texas, January 26, 1868, Hall came to Indian Territory in 1900 locating around Kiowa. A member of the Baptist church, he was a former member of the Anti-Horse Thief association in the early days. He married the former Eppie Furr, March 17, 1907, at Pittsburg. Survivors are his widow of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Daisy Mason, Savanna; Mrs. Edward Stites, Grand Prairie, Texas; and Mrs. Steve G. Caudle, Ceres, Calif.; five sons, Levi of Kiowa, Harvey of Watsonville, Tex.; Henry of Grand Prairie, Tex.; L. C. of Kiowa; and David B. Hall, Jr., of Arlington, Texas; 37 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Bearers were Charlie Stites, Chick Nickles, J. B. Ray, Don Adams, Paul Adams and Hack Batts. Honorary bearers were Alex Staples, Harry Batts, Fred Carrigir, and Lawrence Swain.McAlester Democrat, McAlester, Oklahoma, February 9, 1961
