Death
Esther Mann Furr, 86, of 24724 U.S. 52 South, Albemarle, died at 11:02 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, in Stanly Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Stanly Memorial Chapel. The Rev. J. David Colson will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. Born Aug. 11, 1911, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Minnie Caudle Mann and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills Company. She was a member of First Street United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Her husband, Jim Furr, preceded her in death. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. today at Stanly Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Street United Methodist Church, 509 N.
