Death
Mrs. Louise MeDougall Furr died Sunday in a Hickory hospital after a brief illness. Mrs Furr, who was 77, had lived at 428 Fifth Avenue Place, NE, Hickory. A native of Wilmington, she was educated in that city’s school system and had lived jn Hickory for the last 45 years. Her husband, the late Oscar H. Furr, was a former manager of the Thomas and Howard Wholesale Co. in Hickory. She was born Feb. 5, 1996 to the late J. H. and Roberta Reckling McDougall. Mrs. Furr was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Hickory. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bass-Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. Day Carper. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte. The body will remain at the funeral home and the family will be at Mrs. Furr’s residence from 7 until 8:30 o'clock tonight. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Jennette M. Wagner of Hickory; a niece, Mrs. David Brown of Wilmington; a nephew, H. B. Farrington of Charlotte; a grandnephew, David McDougall of Wilmington, and two grandnieces, Micke McDougall and Anita McDougall, both of Wilmington. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Heart Fund. Pallbearers will be Archie L. Simpson, Mickey Hardwood, H. B.
