Marriage
Statesville. Nov. 25. Of interest to a wide circle of friends through out the state is the marriage of Miss Julia Altie Corpening to Clarence Lee Furr, of Mooresville, which took place Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. D. M. Furches, on Walnut street. The maid of honor, Miss Celeste Henkel, preceded the bride, who entered with, her brother, C. L. Corpening, of Evanston, Ill., who gave her in marriage. She was met at the altar by the groom, who entered with his best man, T. G. Furr, of Salisbury. Rev. W. E. Furr, of Charlotte, brother of the groom, per formed the ceremony, using the impressive ring service. Mrs. Furr is a daughter or the late Dr. and Mrs. T. J. Corpening of Statesville. Mr. Furr is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Furr, of Mooresville. After a wedding trip in the north, Mr. and Mrs. Furr will be at home in Mooresville. A large number of out-of-town guests were present.Death
Mrs. Clarence L. Furr, the former Miss Altie Corpening of Statesville, died Friday night in a Mooresville hospital. She had been in declining health for several years. She is survived by her husband and three brothers, C. L. Corpening, Statesville; Arthur G. Corpening, Rockingham; and R. I. Corpening, Shreveport. La. A number of nieces and nephews in Statesville also survive Funeral arrangements had not learned here this morning.
