Death
Mrs. Oma Rummage Furr, 78, of 4355 Bain Ave., Midland, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 1990, in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Midland, where she was a member. The Rev. Tony Wood, pastor, will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Avie) McCoy, 4080 Garmon Mill Road, Oakboro. Born Dec. 23, 1911, in Stanfield, she was a daughter of the late Ollie L. and Zora Bell Morgan Rummage and was a retired restaurant owner and manager. Her husband, Ralph Duncan Furr, preceded her in death in 1982. Her survivors include a son, Earl (Sonny) Furr of Knoxville, Tenn.; her daughter; a brother, Walter Rummage of Oakboro; two sisters, Mrs. Gracie Barbee of Concord and Mrs. Lanar Nance of Locust; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
