CONCORD - Mrs. Virginia Widenhouse Barringer, 88, of 1501 Zion Church Road E., died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Eden Gardens after a two-year battle with cancer. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeffery Hoffner officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Mrs. Barringer was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late John Albert Widenhouse and the late Wilma Furr Widenhouse. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. She was a retired LPN at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Mr. John Daniel Barringer; daughter, JoAnn B. Fowler and husband, Don, of Concord; son, Mr. John Daniel Barringer Jr. and wife, Lyn, of Castlerock, Colo.; grandchildren, Jenni Hardison, Lauri Fowler, Randy Fowler and Adam Barringer; great-grandchildren, Cole Hardison, Paige Hardison, Savanah Fowler and Sidney Fowler. Memorials to St. Martin Lutheran Church, 5469 N.C. 200 Concord, NC 28025, or to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081 The Family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr.Gary Schwartz and the staff at NorthEast Oncology and the staff from Eden Gardens.Endnotes
